The management of the International federation of the integrated styles of wrestling (FILA) addressed to athletes with a request not to refuse the Olympic medals in protest at recommendations the IOC to exclude wrestling from the Games-2020 program.

The address of FILA was reaction to the decision of champion Games-2000 Sagid Murtazaliyev and the president of Federation of wrestling of Bulgaria, champion Games-1996 Valentin Jordan to return the gold Olympic awards in protest at the decision the IOC.

Earlier return of medals to the IOC was opposed also by Aleksandr Karelin, the president of the Russian Olympic Committee Alexander Zhukov and the president of FSBR Mikhail Mamiashvili.
