On April 17 pupils of the Ulan-Ude school ushu "A gold dragon" returned from the next large tournament with a set of medals. They intend to begin seriously preparation for Olympic Games of 2020. Their sport will compete with free-style wrestling for the right to be included in the Olympic program

European championship

From April 10 to April 14 the Buryat ushuist went to Romania on the most prestigious European championship.  This time titled Vladimir Maksimov and Anastasia Voroshnina went on competitions not only as athletes, but also as trainers.  About 500 athletes gathered in Budapest from all corners of Europe.  Buryatia on it as a part of a national team of Russia was represented by 9 people.  Each of them could win in the look ushu tournament medals.

Especially young athletes for whom the trip on superiority of Europe became the first serious test caused a stir.  12-year-old Roman Kucheryavenko won "gold" in "cyuanshu".  Supported the clubmate and young ushuistka.  Olga Borgolova became a champion in "tai chi-tsyuan" in group of juniors (14 - 17 years), and Aryuna Zhanayev in three types won one "silver" and two "bronze".  With the same result, only among adults, Oksana Yefimov acted.

Also bronze medals received Svetlana Fomitskaya and Alina Itsikson.

In total in a moneybox of the Buryat team of 16 awards:  4 "gold", 5 silver medals and 7 bronze.

To the Olympus bottom

-  We hope that ushu will enter into the program of summer Olympic Games, - the instructor of athletes Igor Markovets told.  -  Precisely it will be known of it in May of this year.

Let's remind, ushu it can be included in the program of the Olympic sports only in 2020.  But already now in "A gold dragon" work on prospect began.  Probably, on the Olympic prospect.

-  We have Roma Kucheryavenko, to him now 12 years, to the Olympic Games he just will be 20 - 22 years old, - the trainer told.  –  It just age of blossoming.  My skilled athletes spoke at last championship and superiority of Europe as instructors.  That is did that I usually do.

Also Igor Markovets mentioned that ushu will compete with free-style wrestling for the right to be called as the Olympic sport.

-  On an equal basis with ushu in the program of the Olympic Games free-style wrestling applies, - the trainer noted.  –  It is a beautiful and ancient sport.  I don't represent the Olympic Games without wrestling.  Very much it would be desirable that both of these sports were included into the program.  But time will show.

You shouldn't forget that if ushu after all will pass in the Olympic program, the competition will increase from other countries.  At present the Russian national team on ushu with a kernel from the Buryat athletes - one of the strongest in the world.  It concedes only to ancestors of this sport - Chinese.

-  The Ukrainian team well made a speech at tournament, - Markovets told.  -  They quite recently undertook development ushu, employed the Chinese trainers and already pressed our athletes on pedestals.

Not to miss the moment, already now the federal and Buryat governments should pay special attention to this sport.  Otherwise local ushuist risk to lose advantage on the international scene which they got for many years trainings.
