Recently we reported that two Chechen athletes became champions of Austria on free-style wrestling. And on March 2nd in the city the Waltz took place the championship of Austria on Greco-Roman style.
Unfortunately, this time our wrestlers didn't manage to win any gold medal though in several weight categories were in the ending.
Category of 55 kg. From 11 participants of this category, four were our compatriots. Two from them — Shamil Matiyev and Ibrahim Isayev met among themselves already at a selection stage. The victory was won by Matiyev and passed in the following circle.
In a quarterfinal Hamzat Asukhanov won against Austrian Thomas Gortano, and Mayrbek Titiyev lost to Alexander Kolpakov from Innsbruck. Shamil Matiyev on "touch" won against Moustapha Karimi from Graz.
In a semi-final Asukhanov won a flawless victory over Kolpakov. And Matiyev conceded on points to the local fighter from Valls Helmut Myulbakhera.
In the ending Hamzat Asukhanov could do nothing with Myulbakher. Having lost with the score 0:3, 0:4, he became the silver prize-winner. In fight for the third place Shamil Matiyev won against the same Kolpakov and took away bronze.
Category of 60 kg. Ayub Betsigov in a quarterfinal won in view of a clear advantage against Thomas Felder — 4:0, 13:0. In a semi-final I overcame quite strong resistance of the rival from Innsbruck — 3:1, 7:7. In the ending Betsigov lost Alvina Gelgera — 0:3, 0:6 and received a silver medal.
Category of 96 kg. Oumar Muzaev in a semi-final defeated Mikael Uber from local sports club of. Waltz. But, in the ending also lost and became the silver prize-winner.
