The pupil of DYuSSh "Victoria" Rustem Assakalov became the champion of Asia on Greco-Roman wrestling.
In decisive fight of the championship which has taken place with participation of representatives of 21 countries in the Indian city of New Delhi, our wrestler won an early victory over the athlete from South Korea. This result gives the chance to Rustem to act in the ending of the World Cup in Greco-Roman wrestling which will take place in the fall in the Hungarian capital — the city of Budapest.
The way to elite of world Greco-Roman wrestling for our athlete was difficult. Rustem Assakalov won three years ago a place as a part of national team, but for Russia so never and didn't act.
On the special permission of the Russian Federation of Greco-Roman wrestling Assakalov decided to make the way on a world forum of wrestlers through Uzbekistan. Having become the champion of this country, he last year already spoke at the championship of Asia where it appeared the bronze prize-winner. Then it didn't have the malost to get on Olympic Games as the admission was got by only two wrestlers of one weight category.
And ways to the treasured purpose then were followed by the representative of the national team of Iran whom this time in India Rustem overcame in a semi-final.
Let's remind that before Novorossiysk fighters became only once participants of the World Cup. It managed to be made in 2003 to the master of sports of the international class Nikolay Barabanu. By the way, the Drum and Assakalov — fellow countrymen, both from a village Natukhayevsky.
— It is necessary to tell that to the best results Rustem Assakalov went very long — the director of DYuSSh "Victoria" Vladimir Holodayev speaks. — The success came to it already at mature age thanks to rare diligence which it showed on trainings.
