One of the tournaments oldest in the country on Greco-Roman wrestling took place in Novoaltaisk

The memorial of the Hero of the Soviet Union Ivan Grigoryev was carried out in sport center of vagonostroitel already by 44 times. This year it brought together 178 young men of 14-16 years from all Siberia, and also Tatarstan and the Tyumen region. As guests on tournament there were titled wrestlers from Novosibirsk – the owner of the World Cup, the bronze prize-winner of the World Cup and Europe Vasily Teploukhov and the double winner of the World Cup Andrey Cherepakhin, and also the world champion in fights without rules Mahomed Mirzamagomedov.

The agiotage is obvious – to winners of competitions handed over big plasma TVs. But not only good prizes Grigoryev's tournament, but also, the most important, is famous for the rich history. The person, in memory about which is held already so many years tournament, – the outstanding pilot who has made more than 150 fighting departures. Its plane was brought down on May 8, 1945 some hours prior to Victory Day celebration.

– In Soviet period to Novoaltaisk gathered to five hundred athletes, – the pensioner Anatoly Ponomaryov – one of those who stood at the origins of development of tournament tells. – Came from all corners of the country – from Tallinn to Magadan. Duels should be carried out even in a warm-up hall from morning to the late evening. Many stars of sports passed developing attack on our tournament.

Among the audience the lottery according to numbers of tickets which were distributed in the sport center foyer was traditionally carried out. During the opening ceremony draw of the first prize – the big plasma TV took place. Anastasia Plotnikova – the niece of the known new Altai wrestler Yury Tokarev who nowadays is the vice-president of Novosibirsk federation of wrestling became his happy owner.

During parade of opening one more event took place: two dummies for wrestling presented to pupils of branch of the new Altai club "Champion" in Aleysk. It appeared just a month ago on the basis of sport center "Star". The new Altai master of sports Vladimir Burdastykh became the trainer of section in which about thirty boys registered already.

– We come on Grigoryev's tournament constantly, – the senior trainer of the youthful national team of the Novosibirsk region Eduard Kulatayev speaks. – Itself once in the childhood I fought at these competitions. Here always there were worthy prizes, but the most important that children meet on a carpet worthy rivals, are gathered skill.

Present tournament for the first time took place by new rules with which duels became much more interesting and more spectacular. The rich arsenal of throws and receptions for which always and "classics" was famous returned to Greco-Roman wrestling. For everything the case which happened to the Estonian wrestler at the Olympic Games, not taken from anybody any point and the silver prize-winner who has become thus is known. At new rules such paradoxes are impossible.

As well as it was supposed, owners of a carpet won the greatest number of awards. On the account of the Altai wrestlers five gold medals from eleven: at Roman Krugov's new Altaians (weight category to 54 kg), Georgy Tokmachyov (to 69 kg) and Mikhail Pogorelov (over 100 kg), and also Alexey Pishchik's Barnaul citizens (to 63 kg) and Dmitry Mekhov (to 100 kg).

Thus 16-year-old Mikhail Pogorelov which weight makes 120 kg, rises the second year in a row by the top step of a pedestal in the heaviest category. He is engaged in fight six years, the rival on the final from Naberezhnye Chelny met for the first time that didn't prevent it to win a victory.

In the forthcoming days off the next serious test – participation in youth superiority of Russia in Novosibirsk is necessary to Altai "Greco-Roman". Our trainer's staff lays hopes first of all on brothers Poltev – Konstantin and Nikolay, and also on Alexey Tadykin who are candidates for participation in superiority of the world and Europe.
