The champion of UFC and predominant force of an average division Anderson Silva (33-4) was fined by UFC management for refusal of acceptance of participation in the action preceding the UFC 162 tournament planned for mass media.
According to the contract, Silva was obliged to meet representatives of the largest TV channels and publishing houses of Los Angeles, however instead preferred to go home, to Brazil.
"We planned the whole day devoted to communication of Silva with mass media, and he simply decided that he doesn't want to do it, and departed. So, we fined it $50,000.
He doesn't like to communicate with mass media, but it is part of its contractual obligations. All want more money, more and more, but nobody likes to sell fights or to leave the house to communicate to the press. To distribute interview is a part of work of the professional fighter, it likes it or not", - the president of UFC Deyn White commented on a situation.
Let's remind that earlier the fighter of a light-middleweight division Nick Diaz (26-9) also passed a press conference before tournament, for what got punishment in the form of deprivation the driver's license of carrying out title fight. According to White's words, now there are no reasons to resort to similar measures and to deprive Silva of a duel so fight Anderson Silva - Chris Uaydman remains in force.
"Nick Diaz wasn't on the main press conference. Silva passed simply large planned action for mass media, but it is all the same inadmissible therefore we will simply fine it", - White declared.
Silva Ad Soares's manager refused comments on this matter.
