The vice-president of Federation of wrestling of Russia Dzambolat Tedeev in interview of "Chempionat.Com" scarified the former president of FILA Raphael Martinetti

Тold about that it is necessary to change in wrestling to keep its Olympic status, and shared opinion why the Russian wrestlers unsuccessfully acted on the Olympic Games-2012 and  reported that he ready to consider the offer on return to a position of the head coach of Russian national team on free-style wrestling.

— Dzambolat Ilyich, what, in your opinion, led the free-style and Greco-Roman wrestling to a condition when the question of an exception of these views from the Olympic program is seriously raised?

— Despite everything, positions and traditions of wrestling on the international scene the very strong. At all countries of the former USSR — Russia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Armenia. But the International federation of our sport had very weak president Raphael Martinetti. At extraordinary conference it simply ousted. Transitional council was headed by Serbian Nenad Lalovich.

The name of the new president of FILA becomes known during elective conference in Moscow in September of this year. I think, world wrestling will be headed by the worthy person. And that occurred today, and the question of presence of wrestling in the Olympic family is raised by an edge, Raphael Martinetti is guilty only.

— The Swiss held this post long enough and, apparently, the Russian Federation of wrestling had a quite good contact with it …

— Contact was, but at the same time the set of scandals is connected with Martinetti's name. Those who constantly watches the World Cups, Europe and Olympic Games couldn't but notice that children from the former USSR there constantly condemn. That other countries got more medals, wrestling rules constantly changed. Because of it it became less spectacular. Wrestler of free and Greek-Roman styles began to fight as sumoist. You leave for a carpet – the rival is given point. What it for fight?

The arsenal of technical actions of wrestler  was reduced to a minimum. Any athlete conceding to the rival on the head, can is banal to defend wrestling and it has a chance to get a convenient lot and to win. Martinetti is guilty in such state of affairs only. In 11 years of the board it created FILA bureau from the people voting for any decision, for any whim of the president. We could do with it nothing. It is good that there were sane people who when reached a critical situation, collected extraordinary conference and dismissed Martinetti.

— The present critical condition is remediable?

— Certainly, to correct a situation yet late, after all the International Olympic committee only should consider a question of sports which will be included into the Olympic Games-2020 program. It is convinced that the common sense has to win. After all with what Olympic Games in Ancient Greece began? From pushing of a stone and from wrestling. It turns out — the most ancient sport. Wrong, biassedly and unfairly to exclude fight from the Olympic program. In turn the Olympic look want to make rock-climbing. FILA include 208 countries. Federations of rock-climbing, veykbording, wushu or softball can brag of such mass character?

— Russia has the presidential candidate of FILA?

— We have many worthy candidates. In particular, would call the present president of Federation of wrestling of Russia, Olympic champion Mikhail Mamiashvili, triple Olympic champion Alexander Karelin. These are very worthy people with whom reckon at the international level.

— To revitalize a situation in fight, to change the president a little …

— If the authoritative fighter becomes the president of the International federation, rules and wrestling will exchange becomes more dynamic and more spectacular. Such what it was earlier, somewhere 15 years ago.

— But you already as the trainer have to understand that the majority of present wrestler

 to transition to new rules simply aren't ready as existing nowadays — compelled to exclude from a technical arsenal a set of receptions …

— Certainly, time is necessary. But if we want to keep wrestling, other exit as return to old rules, I don't see. Former traditions should be revived.
