On March 2-3 in the city of Warsaw took place the international tournament "European Open" on the judo, earlier known, as the World Cup . More than 300 athletes gathered in the capital of Poland from nearly 40 countries of the world.
As a part of the Russian national team the Chechen judoist Jakub Shamilov participated in tournament. In its weight category of 66 kg 53 applicants for prize-winning places gathered.
In the first fight Jakub surely won against Nandal from India. In 1/16 endings less, than in one minute André Soareshom finished with the Portuguese. In 1/8 endings George Reyter from Austria was prostrate.
Shamilov passed Spaniard Ramirez in a quarterfinal, and in a semi-final ippony won against strong Mongol Ganbat who became recently Gran Pri's owner in Germany.
And only Jakub conceded in the ending to world champion Georgi Zantaraya from team of Ukraine. Before Zantaraya easily finished with rivals, but the decisive duel with the Chechen judoist was for it very intense. Having conceded to the world champion in points with a small gap, Jakub Shamilov won a silver medal.
