The XX traditional tournament on judo of memory of the soldiers who were lost during operations in Afghanistan, took place in Sergiev Posad on Saturday, April 13, in the Tennis center on Druzhby Street.

Competitions took place between young men 2001-2002 in seven weight categories. Part in tournament on judo was taken by 246 athletes from 42 teams which have arrived from many cities of Russia.

At opening ceremony there was a President of the European Union of judo Sergey Soloveychik, the first deputy head of administration of the Sergiyevo-Posadsky area Sergey Tostanovsky and the president of the Union of soldiers internationalists "Cascade" Yury Shaginov.

Among guests of honor — mothers of the lost soldiers during operations in Afghanistan and veterans of operations.

Following the results of competitions of performance of judoists from Sergiev Posad it is possible to consider quite successful: Gleb Pankov became the third in weight category to 34 kg, Nikon Gavrilov — in category to 42 kg, Nikita Gubarev won a victory among the rivals in weight category to 55 kg.
