The third All-Russian tournament on free-style wrestling of memory of George Termolayev took place in Rostov-on-Don

Last year all close-knit wrestling family of Russia and many other countries in which love and appreciate free-style wrestling, noted century since the birth of the triple champion of the USSR of the first post-war years deserved the trainer of RSFSR George Termolayev.

The brightest master of free-style wrestling, having become the trainer, I brought a huge contribution to development of this sport not only in the Rostov region where was born and I grew, but also in North Ossetia – Alania where worked in those years when this sport which has brought then the republic an international recognition and the brightest Olympic achievements there arose.

It is remarkable that the pupil of the Ossetian school of wrestling, the master of sports of the USSR Tamerlan Makiyev became one of the main initiators of carrying out in Rostov-on-Don of the traditional tournament devoted to memory of George Manukovich Termolayev. The person deeply believing, having appeared in Rostov, he saw command Supreme in doing everything possible for revival of free-style wrestling, carrying out tournament in memory of the patriarch, giving to these competitions of the All-Russian status.

This initiative actively supported one of Termolayev's best pupils – the master of sports of the USSR Victor Topolyants and other pupils of the remarkable instructor.

Let's notice that in the history of the Don wrestling Armenians played a special role. It is enough to remember that Gurgen Shatvoryan became the first world champion, the Olympic gold was won by Varteres Samurgashev. And the list of the instructors awarded for all history of the Don wrestling of a rank of deserved trainers of the USSR, RSFSR, Russia already passed for the eighth ten. And a good few from them – Armenians.

The Don edge, as well as its capital of Rostov-on-Don, are very multinational. Here are able to appreciate and fix mutual understanding and friendship between the people. Sports in this case play very important role. Here and the tournaments devoted to memory of Termolayev, prove it fully. The second All-Russian tournament which finally claimed was devoted to century of the trainer that the good tradition already is.

On October 25-26 in the Rostov specialized hall of wrestling "Oat-flakes" passed the third All-Russian tournament among the juniors, devoted to George Termolayev's memory. On a carpet there were athletes Northern Ossetia-Alania, Dagestan, the Chechen republic, South Ossetia, Abkhazia, Volgograd, Rostov-on-Don, Novocherkassk, Zernograd, Novoshakhtinsk, Konstantinovsk, Morozovsk and other cities.

Among guests of honor were: the state trainer of federation of wrestling of Russia Eric Agayev, the deserved master of sports, the president of federation of wrestling of Rostov-on-Don Sergey Dyudyaev, the deserved trainer of Russia Omar Kuramagomedov (Dagestan), Amrudi Hamtsuyev (The Chechen republic), Akhsharbek Tuayev (Northern Ossetia-Alania), Termolayev's pupils — masters of sports of the USSR Rudolf Alyoshkin, Ovenes Ekizyan, Vladimir Fomin, Victor Topolyants, Semen Kazarov – the deserved trainer of Russia and many others.

Tournament was held on an initiative and with support of federation of wrestling of the Rostov region which is headed by the Olympic champion Varteres Samurgashev, the managements of DYuSSh No. 8, public organization "Wrestlers — New Generation" and "Nakhichevan - on - Don of the Armenian community".

During ceremony of opening of competitions Eric Agayev addressed to young athletes with greeting words. He emphasized that the federation of wrestling of Russia seeks to support in every possible way the initiatives aimed at the further development of all types of wrestling, support of talented trainers and athletes not only in leading regions, but also in those territories which seek to give to development of these sports new impulses.

- The Don earth has huge traditions not only in Greek-Roman, but also in free-style wrestling — he emphasized. – Nowadays the regional federation under the leadership of the Olympic champion Varteres Samurgashev does much in order that nice traditions adequately proceeded. We see it and on level of this tournament which in the long term as we hope, becomes international. Rostov already steadily accepts competitions on free-style wrestling of a regional rank and carries perfectly out them. There are gifted young men and girls. So I wish further successes, association of efforts of everything to whom the wrestling future that such original school as Don prospered isn't indifferent, I reached new, biggest heights not only in Greek-Roman, but also the manumission and in female wrestling. In total and will be if to continue persistently and to move consistently on the way which there is a regional federation of wrestling.

On a carpet tone was set by athletes from two leaders in the country of the centers of development of free-style wrestling: Dagestan and Northern Ossetia-Alania about what convincingly tells also the list of champions as weight categories.

In weight to 50 kilograms Roman Navruzaliyev (Morozovsk) took priority. In category to 55 kilograms Mahomed Magomedov (Dagestan) became the strongest. Nabigula Magomedov from Dagestan became the first in weight to 60 kilograms. In category to 66 kilograms Mahomed Takhiyev from Dagestan took priority. Weight to 74 kilograms was won by Aslanbek Borukayev from Northern Ossetia-Alania. In weight to 84 kilograms Magomedsaid Ibragimov rose by the highest step from Dagestan. Weight to 96 kilograms was won by Abubakar Ibragimov from Dagestan. In category to 120 kilograms Andrey Ambalov from Northern Ossetia-Alania was the strongest.

Termolayev George Manukovich was born in the village Crimea on October 8, 1911. Since the childhood was fond of sports, especially liked to be engaged in free-style wrestling. The Georgian school of Free-style wrestling has impact on its formation as the wrestler in Tbilisi at which he trained in 1925-1926. Career of the athlete was interrupted by the Great Patriotic War. At that time George Manukovich lived on Don and was called in 1941 by the Bataysk military registration and enlistment office. Till 1944 Termolayev protected the Homeland. George Manukovich under Stalin's personal order got demobilize. It was the order under which all talented athletes were invalided out to lift sports in the USSR. George Termolayev was the founder of free school of wrestling in the Rostov region.
